BSP Financial: PNG Commerce and Directories Register with BSP Pay

PNG Trade and Directories Limited (PNGDL) customers can now pay for services instantly online without using their VISA debit card to make advertising payments for both print and online directories.

PNGDL is a subsidiary of Telikom Holdings and an official directory publisher for PNG and the Solomon Islands. PNGDL, commonly marketed as the Yellow Pages, has been operational since the inception of Telikom PNG and is an authorized directory publisher in the country.

As part of the company’s modernization and transformation strategy, management has invested in mobile and internet technologies to improve the customer experience and further strengthen service standards for directory services in the country.

PNGDL’s new CEO, Mr. Jessy Pendene, said business transformation and modernization is the way forward to enable businesses to stay competitive, especially in today’s market environment.

“With the increasing use of mobile and internet technologies in the country, the board and management need to step outside the box to venture into e-commerce. the next year. The cost of operations for revenue collection is high due to collections across the country. The third phase of the transformation will include an online store concept in which every Papua New Guinea will be offered a reliable opportunity to shop online.

Mr Pendene added that “his management is currently in talks with parent company Telikom Holdings and other sister state-owned companies like Post PNG for a possible partnership for the online store concept using their distribution network in the country. He said the integration of BSP Pay is a key achievement to support the company’s ongoing online plans.

BSP Pay is a payment solution that allows a BSP account holder to make online payments to registered merchants instantly and securely without using card details.

The only information required is their CIF (BSP ID) and their registered cell phone number to receive security codes.
